Apple and Google Ramp Up Stablecoin Hiring as Big Tech Deepens Push Into Digital Assets

Apple and Google are hiring senior professionals to build stablecoin, blockchain, and tokenized finance services, which may suggest investment from both companies in payment and digital asset infrastructure, although neither job listing suggests plans to develop their own stablecoins.

On August 26, Apple posted an opening for Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead in the US, part of the Apple Card and Apple Cash team that runs its consumer credit card business, its peer-to-peer transfers, stored value and other Apple Pay-related products.

Candidates will be expected to help define the long-term strategy, identify growth opportunities, build business cases, and assess products and partnerships.

Apple’s advertisement also listed experience with stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology as desired skills, and a minimum of six years of experience as a requirement. The potential US-based salary was displayed as ranging from $149,700 to $280,000.
