The collaboration aims to offer trading and custody services for major virtual assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL), directly through Bank Leumi’s mobile investment app.

This move comes after a previous attempt in 2022, which was halted due to lack of approval from the Bank of Israel. Background and Previous Attempt Bank Leumi’s initial foray into crypto trading was in 2022, when it partnered with Paxos, a blockchain infrastructure platform.

That effort was scrapped after failing to secure the necessary regulatory approval from the Bank of Israel, which has historically been cautious about digital assets.
