Bitcoin Treasury Hyperscale Sells 9% of Its BTC Despite Indefinite Hold Pledge
Hyperscale is turning part of its Bitcoin pile into construction cash and loan collateral, softening an earlier promise.
Two days after reporting that it held over 1,106 BTC, Hyperscale Data, a publicly traded AI data-center operator and Bitcoin miner, said in a press release that it had monetized approximately 100 BTC to fund its Michigan AI campus.
The company didn’t disclose when the Bitcoin was sold, the execution price or how much cash it received.
The company wrote: “Hyperscale Data believes that selectively redeploying a portion of the cash underlying its Bitcoin treasury into the Michigan Campus has the potential to create greater long-term stockholder value while preserving meaningful exposure to Bitcoin through the Company’s remaining treasury holdings.” The sale represents 9% of the latest holdings announced by the company.
