Congress Crypto Bill Delay: CLARITY Act Vote Pushed to September as 2026 Passage Hopes Fade

The delay of the Congress crypto bill has set U.S. digital asset regulation in motion for September. Senate Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 3633, with the next procedural vote scheduled for September 15, 2026.

The House passed the CLARITY Act in July 2025 by a 294-134 vote, but disagreements in the Senate over ethics, rewards, DeFi, and regulatory authority have prevented the bill’s quick passage.

That's disappointing, but I appreciate @LeaderJohnThune's commitment to bringing the bill up in September.
