Deutsche Bank to Launch Digital Asset Custody for Institutional Clients
Deutsche Bank said on September 16 that it will launch a digital asset custody service for institutional and corporate clients in Europe, its most direct commitment yet to safeguarding crypto assets for the traditional finance clients it already serves.
The German lender announced the planned rollout as a way for clients to hold and transfer selected digital assets without building their own custody infrastructure, with the launch targeted for this year subject to completion of the applicable regulatory process.
What the Custody Service Covers The service will let clients safeguard digital assets and transfer them to third parties, with Deutsche Bank managing wallets and private keys on clients’ behalf.
At launch the bank will support a selected range of assets, including Bitcoin and Ether as well as stablecoins and e-money tokens such as USDC and EURC, with the list expandable over time subject to client demand and the bank’s product-approval process.
