BitcoinWorld ElizaOS co-founder declares ELIZAOS token dead as foundation winds down ElizaOS co-founder Shaw Walters announced on X that the ELIZAOS token is effectively dead and the foundation behind the project is being dissolved.

In a series of posts, Walters said the intellectual property belongs to him and that he plans to start over from scratch, with no future link between Eliza and any token.

What led to the collapse Walters explained that he became consumed by coding, developing frozen shoulder and suffering serious health problems from overwork, yet still faced criticism that the effort was never enough.

The team built impressive products, but all of that was dismissed as the token price fell, and Walters was even accused of being a scammer. The project, originally launched as AI16Z, was rebranded to ELIZAOS in early 2025.
