MEV Bot Operator Jaredfromsubway Loses $505K in Trading Blunder After $7.7M Exploit
BitcoinWorld MEV Bot Operator Jaredfromsubway Loses $505K in Trading Blunder After $7.7M Exploit An MEV bot operator known as Jaredfromsubway has lost 264 ETH (worth approximately $505,000) while trading Ethereum with funds stolen from a previous exploit, according to blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain.
The loss occurred during a series of trades that followed the theft of about $7.7 million a month ago. Details of the Trading Blunder Lookonchain reported that Jaredfromsubway initially swapped the stolen funds into ETH.
The operator then sold 2,327 ETH for $3.94 million at an average price of $1,695 per token. Shortly after, the same operator used a similar amount of capital to buy back 2,063 ETH at an average price of $1,912 per token.
This round-trip trade resulted in a net reduction of 264 ETH, which at current prices amounts to roughly $505,000. The trades appear to be a classic case of a trader trying to time the market and failing, but in this case, the funds were not the operator’s own.
