Background and Role at Mysten Labs Blackshear has been a pivotal figure at Mysten Labs, where he led the technical development of SUI, a layer-1 blockchain designed for high throughput and low latency.

Before co-founding Mysten Labs, he was a researcher at Meta (then Facebook) on the Diem blockchain project, which provided the foundation for SUI’s architecture.
