Sepolia Sets the Stage for Ethereum’s Glamsterdam Upgrade

The biggest item in Ethereum news today isn’t the price tape, with ETH changing hands around $2,586 after a 5.7% daily move, it’s the calendar. Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade now has a firm date attached to it: the Sepolia testnet fork is scheduled for October 6, 2026.

That’s genuine progress toward one of the network’s most ambitious scaling overhauls in years. What it isn’t is a launch date. Ethereum’s official roadmap still lists mainnet deployment as expected in Q4 2026, and the page says plainly that the date has not been confirmed.

The distinction matters for anyone tracking ETH’s development pipeline. A testnet fork is a rehearsal, not a production release.
